Accommodations and Services
Accommodations and services at the Office of Accessibility are determined by using a collaborative process that considers documentation from the diagnosing professional, the disability specialist's perspective and student input.
Accommodations are designed to ensure access to your academic career at The University of Akron.
After you register with our office, we will meet to discuss which of the accommodations and services you are eligible for and how to access your accommodations each semester.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with how to register with our office and maximize the use of your accommodations by requesting them through before the semester starts. We welcome you to contact our office with any questions you may have.
The accommodation and services you are eligible to receive are determined in your initial meeting with your disability specialist. Some accommodations have deadlines in order to have sufficient time to coordinate your services. A reasonable good faith effort will be exercised by the Office of Accessibility to provide these accommodations, aids and services for eligible students.
