High School Teacher CCP Instructor Credentialing Process
It is our intent to work collaboratively with our CCP high school partners to identify qualified high school teachers who may be able to serve as adjunct instructors. We welcome the opportunity to review and discuss specific qualifications with individual teachers and/or administrators. The University of Akron complies with the accrediting standards of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
Minimum instructor qualifications include either a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree plus 18 “approved” graduate credits in the content area. Specific departments may also include additional requirements.
Interested teachers must submit the following credentials for consideration:
- Request for Adjunct Status Form - Download Adjunct Status Form
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Undergraduate and graduate transcripts
Credentials can be submitted to Greg Dieringer, Director of College Credit Plus, at gdierin@uakron.edu. Materials will then be forwarded to the appropriate department for consideration.
