When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 小黄片视频 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.
The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Steininger, Frank C. and Karen S. Accountancy Graduate Assistantship
The Frank C. and Karen S. Steininger Accountancy Graduate Assistantship was established in 2019 by generous benefactors Frank C. and Karen S. Steininger. Frank earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from The University of Akron in 1981, and Karen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from 小黄片视频 in 1982. Today, Frank serves as executive senior vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer of Houston-based CIVEO, a global leader in workforce accommodations for employees of oil and gas companies.
The couple, grateful for the education they received at The University of Akron, established this fund to help attract, recruit, and retain outstanding graduate students in The George W. Daverio School of Accountancy at The University of Akron.
To be eligible to receive funding, recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time at The University of Akron as an accounting or tax graduate student. There will be two recipients each year.
Recipients must have an excellent academic record, including a minimum GPA of 3.0, an excellent record of conduct, and evidence of engagement in extracurricular activities. Other factors considered in the selection include an interest in becoming a professional accountant, skills and career objectives, and financial need. Selection of the recipients will be made by the Chair of The George W. Daverio School of Accountancy.
The recipients are expected to work 10 hours each week for 16 weeks per semester. The work may involve responsibilities such as tutoring students, assisting faculty with research projects, proctoring exams, assisting with activities hosted by the School, as well as other tasks or assignments determined by the School.
