For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of С»ÆƬÊÓƵ alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

The Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship, established in March 2024 through the joint efforts of the Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Council, alumni, and friends, serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to advancing the field of polymer science and engineering through education and empowerment. This scholarship has been thoughtfully created to recognize and support outstanding undergraduate students who demonstrate exemplary dedication to the field, academic excellence, and a passion to enrich the innovative world of polymers.

As part of the broader educational initiative to elevate the field of polymer science and engineering, The Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship signifies a collective effort to uplift and empower the academic community. It reflects the collaborative spirit of the Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Council, alumni, and friends, who are dedicated to fostering the growth of the next generation of polymer scientists and engineers. As scholarship recipients embark on their educational journeys, they become integral members of a community committed to pushing the boundaries of polymer science and engineering, ultimately shaping a future where innovative polymers play a pivotal role in addressing global challenges.

As part of the larger educational initiative, We Rise Together, the Campaign for The University of Akron, The Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship signifies a collective effort to uplift and empower the academic community.

The Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship is to support promising full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in polymer science and polymer engineering at The University of Akron. The scholarship will be awarded to students who maintain satisfactory academic progress and may be renewed for a maximum of eight semesters. Renewal of the scholarship is contingent upon the student's maintenance of good academic standing, continued pursuit of a degree in the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering, and full-time enrollment. Recipients shall be selected С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Scholarship Committee in the Office of Student Financial Aid.
