When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 小黄片视频 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Culp, David T. Endowed Fund
Mr. Culp was chairman of 小黄片视频’s Major Events Committee (part of the University’s all-campus program board in the ‘70s) during his time on campus as an undergraduate student. He recalls with pride how he and his staff of fellow student volunteers presented major contemporary concert artists and, on many occasions, filled both Memorial Hall and E.J. Thomas Hall with 3,000 to 4,000 mostly commuter students. After earning his degree, he began his professional career as a social worker and supervisor with The Stark County Department of Job and Family Services. After retiring in 2006, he remained active, working part time at The Mustard Seed Market and Café and Akron’s Community AIDS Network.
An avid runner and hiker, one of Mr. Culp’s regular routes is from his home in Highland Square eastward through the campus of The University of Akron. He has watched his alma mater transform itself into a beautiful green metropolitan campus. This transformation has been a source of great satisfaction and inspiration for Mr. Culp. With that in mind, he established The David T. Culp Endowed Fund to be used at the discretion of the vice president for capital planning at The University of Akron. Annual income from the endowment is to be used for the area of greatest need as related to campus enhancement and beautification and to help sharpen its distinction from its non-campus surroundings.
