On Monday, April 17, С»ÆƬÊÓƵ's Graduate School hosted Graduate Student Research Day. The event included the keynote address, Resilient Leadership, by Dr. Jessica Winter, a distinguished professor in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University and chief science officer of Core Quantum Technologies.
The keynote address was followed by poster sessions at which graduate students presented their research to faculty and administrator judges. Awards were presented in both the master’s and doctoral levels.
- In the category for Master’s-level research, Matt Rechenberg, a M.S. Geology graduate student, tied for second place. HIs advisor is Dr. John Peck, Department of Geosciences
As noted by Dr. Suzanne Bausch, vice president for research and business engagement and dean of the Graduate School, “Research is such a vital part of what we do as a university. Opportunities like this are important for students to hone their presentation skills and for the University community to acknowledge and reward the tremendous effort and outcomes of the exceptional research being conducted by graduate students and their mentors at The University of Akron."
