С»ÆƬÊÓƵ NEOMFA Graduate Students Recognized

Two С»ÆƬÊÓƵ NEOMFA graduate students, Joel Lee and Nick Sturm, have been recognized for their excellence in creative writing by The Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) through the Intro Journals Project. The Intro Journals Project is a literary competition for the discovery and publication of the best new works by students currently enrolled in the programs of AWP.

Lee was recognized in the category of creative nonfiction for his piece “Self: A Musical.” Sturm was recognized for his work of poetry, “Quantum Kerfuffle.”

The MFA Program at the University of Akron is part of the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts in Creating Writing Program. The NEOMFA is a multidisciplinary, interdepartmental, and inter-institutional program that provides opportunities for students to pursue the terminal degree in creative writing. The NEOMFA draws its faculty from departments at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ, Youngstown State, Cleveland State and Kent State.
