The political process does not end at the polls; in fact, Election Day is just the beginning. Starting Jan. 15, students of all ages — in a classroom at The University of Akron and through distance learning at satellite campuses — will learn from political analysts what postelection politics is all about.
 
John Green, С»ÆƬÊÓƵ distinguished professor of political science, and Gerald Austin, Democratic political strategist and adviser. The 14-week evening course will focus on how politicos pursue their agendas and the results of these efforts, reviewing the implications of these factors for public policy and the next election. A trip to Chicago is planned to observe the special election to replace U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.
 
The course fee is $50 for the 14-week session. Class meets on Tuesdays from 5:20 to 7:50 p.m., beginning Jan. 15 and continuing through April 23. Class will not be held on March 26. For more information, or to register, visit .
