Thomas R. Saving
The presidential election may be over, but the reformation of the policies and legislatures that formed the heart of the race has yet to begin. With the national debt growing and funds to Medicare shrinking, reformation to cut costs, but still allow money for health care, is of obvious need.
One expert knows how to set about such a reformation. The University of Akron's Department of Economics and the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics welcome Thomas R. Saving to speak on Medicare reform on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the Martin University Center Ballroom.
With an appropriate last name to suit, Saving's presentation is titled, “Saving on Medicare: Prospects for Long-Term Reform.” Saving’s current research emphasis is on the benefit of markets in solving the pressing issues in health care and Social Security. He has served as a Public Trustee of the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds as appointed by both President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush. Saving touted Medicare reform in 2007, and continues to advocate for better legislature.
