The School of Disaster Science & Emergency Services offers a variety of programs, including nationally accredited programs in Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and Fire Protection.

Emergency Management and Homeland Security

Emergency Management is the coordination of an organized effort to address any event which threatens to or actually inflicts damage to people or property. Some of these hazards can be from natural disasters, such as floods, tornadoes, or hurricanes; a terrorism incident; or a hazardous material spill.  Various components of emergency management include disaster response, risk assessment, damage assessment, planning, homeland security, and business continuity.

Cyber Forensics

Cyber Forensics is a unique combination of digital forensics, network forensics, and ethical hacking. Students learn investigative techniques to gather and preserve evidence, analyze attacks, and recover critical data. Graduates of the program often seek careers in law enforcement or cyber analyst positions.

Emergency Medical Services

The Emergency Medical Services program offers both professional certification and a quality education. It not only goes beyond providing training required for certification, but it also recognizes the amount of learning associated with a Licensed Paramedic Program. Graduates of the program will have state certification as an EMT-Paramedic, which will enable them to provide the highest level of emergency medical service available.

Fire Protection Technology

Fire protection concepts change as technology becomes more sophisticated. Therefore, the fire protection specialist must be skilled in the latest techniques in fire control, prevention, and property protection. The Fire Protection Technology program follows the Fire and Emergency Service Higher Education Models from the United States Fire Administration. And the training programs align with the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association.
