Direct Deposit for Student Refunds
A convenient and secure way to receive your money
What is direct deposit?
Direct deposit is a service that allows you to receive your student refunds electronically, instead of waiting for a paper check. When you sign up for direct deposit, your refunds will be automatically transferred to your bank account within a few days of being processed by the school.
Why should you choose direct deposit?
- It's faster. You don't have to wait for a check to arrive in the mail or go to the bank to cash it.
- It's safer. You don't have to worry about losing or misplacing your check or having it stolen or damaged.
- It's easier. You don't have to update your mailing address every time you move, or deal with the hassle of forwarding your mail.
- It's greener. You help save paper and reduce waste by eliminating the need for printing and mailing checks.
How do you sign up for direct deposit?
Signing up for direct deposit is simple and free. Simply log in to Workday and navigate through the steps found below.
You will need your bank name, routing number, and account number. You can find these on your check or bank statement.
You can change or cancel your direct deposit at any time by following the same steps. Cash App accounts will be rejected.
Adding a Direct Deposit Account in Workday
To add a direct deposit account in Workday:
- From the Workday Home Page, click the Menu link
- Select the Finances app
- Click Set Up Payment Elections
- On the Payment Elections’ screen, click Add
- Enter your banking information in the Account Information section:
- Select the Account Type (Checking or Savings)
- Enter the Routing Transit Number, Account Number, and Bank Name
- Additionally, you can enter a Bank Identification Code
- There is an option to add an Account Nickname to help you identify this account
- Select OK to save your account information
- Scroll down until you find Payment Elections Requiring Setup
- Under Pay Type- Student Refund Click Add
- Verify Pay Type is Student Refund
- Currency-USD
- Payment Type-Direct Deposit
- Account-Bank Account
- Click Balance
- Select OK to save your information
Note: If Direct Deposit is not selected in the Student Refund field, then you will receive a check in the mail.
